Sunsail - Event Co-ordinator

About Us

Sunsail offers corporate sailing, team building and hospitality events from our Port Solent base on the south coast of England. Our base on the Solent is close to Portsmouth and offers excellent sailing conditions amidst stunning scenery.

The role of Event Co-ordinator will be responsible for Coordinating all departures of the UK Fleet. This includes managing skipper requirements, coordinating with the technical manager for fleet availability and PHYC Manager for Catering requirements. Liaising with the Corporate Events Team.

This is a full-time position based primarily at Port Solent, managing the Reception team and all Freelance Skippers. This role includes weekend work and split shifts.

Operational
Pull departure plan off Neptune/i5 and update system with changes made to boat allocations Deal with complaints Maintain the Skippers Notice board - Monitor/issue changes to local Harbour regulations Maintain the Skippers Website Ensure skippers are delivering the product correctly - to include spot checks out on the water and monitoring feedback. Communicate with the Corporate Event Team on a daily basis to gain information regarding events To fulfil the role of Duty Manager (job role detailed in the UK Operations Procedures Manual) on a rota system Ensure health and safety standards are maintained for your reports Complete risk assessments for all activities of your reports Be on call daily for any emergency by mobile or home phone

Staffing

Assist Chief Instructor in coordination of Instructors Manage Reception Team Create and manage staff rotas for the Reception Team. Work weekends on a rota and be present for all big events. Ensure all required employee/freelance staff administration is completed. Recruit, interview and train staff as necessary Brief skippers on courses and activities at Port Solent Support the Technical Manager and OPS Manager administratively. Monitor and manage your teams performance using the company performance review guidelines Maintain accurate employee records for your reports Maintain clear job descriptions for all of your staff Lead and motivate staff, holding regular meetings Coordinate all Freelance Skippers for Events Organise development training where necessary for staff
